MSI GX610 Overheating

Go to solution Solved by FilipSebik,

for a laptop that is a rediculously low shutdown temperature...im wondering if the hardware is outright faulty? can anyone confirm this?

Nononono ATI Power Play caused overheating and shutting it down is nice. Never goes more than 55`C.

Hi, i bought this laptop on december 2014 from friend and it was dusty like hell and termal paste was like rock, then i replaced it and cleaned fan and everything. Here comes trouble, laptop was still overheating. I bought cooling pad and it wont helped (it had 3 little fans). I took down cover off and made myself cooling pad which helped cooling laptop but it was still overheating. So i builded cooling pad from lego and put there 1 arctic cooling fan 120mm and 1 80mm (or 90), then games like League of Legends dont even run more than on 55`C. Then i turned on Half-Life 2 episode 1 and boom overheated. This laptop is tottaly clean and have no dust in it. Its freakin cooling with these fans but every time i turn on hl2 then it shuts down without BSOD or anything. Thanks

Laptop specs:

CPU: AMD Turion 64 x2 mobile technology TL-56 2 Cores 1.8GHz

RAM: 2GB Kingstom DDR2

GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600

PS: Power supply is ok.

Define overheating?

What are the temps, there is a vague line between your overheating, and mine.

P.S- older Notebooks overheat. It was a thing they fixed within generations of gaming laptops. I have m1710 xps from dell that went up to 98°c at times.

CPU: Pentium G3258 @ 3.2GHz || GPU:(first release,used) MSI R9 270 OC || Motherboard:MSI Z97-G45 Gaming Motherboard || RAM: 8 GB G.Skill Sniper 1600 || Monitors: Vizio 22 in Ultra slim 1080p TV || Storage: Seagate barracuda 160 GB 7200RPM,(REFURB) 1TB toshiba 7200RPM || PSU: (stripped from 2013 CAD PC)Corsair CX600 build was under $420

Hmm it shouldn't be shutting down at only 67. Have you OC'ed anything? Is it only HL2? Try a different game, any game that will be graphically intensive. Download Heaven Benchmark and see if it shuts off.

Every steam game except terraria. No OC. Prime95 keeps at 67 and dont turn off. I will download heaven benchmark and tell you results
