Hey guys,

Lately my computer seams to be running slower. Im not sure if something is going wrong but there is something not right.

Im running a i7 920 with a r9 290x and 12 gigs of ram. It there anyway to find out whats wrong?

Edit: What are the steps to troubleshooting?

I'm afraid to swear now because the overlords might hurt me.

step one scan for virus's

step two update drivers

step three turn off unneeded programs

step four scrub motherboard with sponge and soap to get all the bugs out

step five enjoy :)

works every time

Not so sure on the step four thou. Haha. But if he does follow all the way, his computer will be much much faster due to the fact maybe mobo will be spoilt and he has to upgrade his com. :P

Are you using an ssd? if not, then the mechanical drive is the problem. :)

Slower at which point?

To startup? Check all software starting with OS

Opening folders? With HDD, defrag

General using software? Run CCleaner, check background processes etc.

i don't think his computer is getting slower because of a HDD

Normal HDDs are much slower than SSDs. If the OP has been using the computer for a long time, then obviously its the HDD.

The amount of people I get that complain to me about their computer being slow, it's the caused by the slow HDD.

If could there is so many crap on the HDD causing it to slow, therefore, it's the HDD causing the problem..
