Computer starts, then shuts down after 2 seconds

So my friend is having this problem, when he turns on his PC, it shuts down after 2 seconds. The fans are spinning, lights are on, but the screen is black. Anyone know how to troubleshoot/fix this?

Does it still boot after it does this? I know quite a few motherboards from Asus and EVGA do it to give power then reboot to stabilize voltages. My MSI board does it.

 

What is his COMPLETE system specs?

It looks like he did not have the CPU power cable plugged, that solved the problem....

Oh, CPU might want to share some power from the psu to run. :P Not like it is powered by magic.
