Steam CD Key

On steam I have the game The Settlers Rise of an Empire. It has a CD key that is supposed to be entered. When I try entering it it says its not correct. I've doubled checked everything and it still doesn't work. Should I go complain to ubisoft or steam. Both options don't sound good. Any help?

It might have to install the game on using the CD, because i found out some of keys dont work with steam unless it said on the box it works with steam than... you should ask where you brought the CD keys or game company or steam.

Steam gave me the CD key when I bought the game.

Did you put in like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx = works or xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx = does not work?

Option 1 and 2, neither work

The game just pops up with a message saying the code i entered is not correct. I've tripled checked at this point and it doesn't work.

My Half life 1 key was not working and turned out someone had claimed it. They asked to show them card with the key and write the support ticket number on it and take a picture. After that, they just game the account details of the guy who had it, who turned out to be my dad ha ha ha....
