B0SS A$$ B**** Build

Hey guys!

I started gaming with my laptop, which I named the Destroyer. Then I transformed an old Dell desktop PC with a Q6600 and a GTX 660, which I called the Destoryer II. I recently saved up my money to build my ultimate gaming PC, the B0SS A$$ B****. I plan on upgrading to a 960 in the future, get a new PSU, more case fans and possibly an LED strip. Let me know what you guys think! By the way, I had a mix up with my CPU. I won't go in detail on this post, but I did post about it a few days ago on the forums: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/358685-cpu-mix-up-from-amazon-read/. I'm extremely lucky!

Specs:

looks pretty awesome!

are you gonna leave the cables like that or did you tidy them up a bit? (doesn;t matter much with the case tough, they arn't really behind the glass)

also, how does it perform? because i can imagine the GPU being kinda outdated compared to the rest.

Nice build, apart from the cable management.

You're lucky to get a 4790k instead of a 4690, gotta love amazon.

Yeah, the cables are really bugging me as well. I'm planning on getting a modular PSU, so I didn't want to spend extra time on messing about with the wires. The GPU will be fine for a few months, but I plan on upgrading to the 960 soon. I haven't gotten a chance to test it a whole lot; I've only tried Killing Floor 2. I got around 55-58 FPS with Ultra settings.

I will be getting a modular PSU soon, so I'm not going to stress so much on cable management at the moment. I only got the 4790, but definitely yeah! I'm really stoked that they managed to give me a better CPU on accident. :D

Is 660 really worth it?

My 660 has done a fantastic job running games, so far. I'm able to play GTA V with textures very high and most settings on high with 60 fps. I do have the advanced graphics and tessellation turned off, and I have grass detail on normal. I can also max out games like Borderlands 2, Saints Row 3 and Killing Floor 2. My old CPU was bottlenecking my performance in games. If anyone ever wanted a cheap GPU that can max a majority of games or at least get high-medium settings, I would say get a 660 every time. Like I said though, I will be upgrading to a 960 in the future because I am putting a lot of work load on this GPU. The reason why I have the 660 is because it matched better with my old build.
