I think that 250 is a good point to start using raid 0 with ssds

You should just take whatever is on your V3000 off of it and dump it. It is seriously a horrible SSD. I'm very suprised that a brand like Kingston would make such a horrible SSD.

With the "upgrades" you are going to be making in the upcoming months I would recommend you get a 4690K and get an even better SSD. Not that the 850 EVO is bad, it's great. You could just always get a better one if you downgrade to a 4690K. Intel 750 if you are open to spending a bit.

 My Buyer’s Guide!

Don't bother with Raid 0 SSD's

Yes there is a performance increase but its so stupidly small that it doesn't validate the price. ALSO in some games from the benchmarks I've seen it actually performed better on a single SSD.

Rather spend the money on a PCI-X SSD drive, those things are apparently EPIC.

Redstone:
i7-4770 / Z97 / GTX 980 / Corsair 16GB  / H90 / 400C / Antec EDGE / Neutron GTX240 / Intel 240Gb / WD 2TB / BenQ XL24

Obsidian:

MSI GE60 2PE i7-4700HQ / 860M / 12GB / WE 1TB / m.Sata 256gb/Elagto USB HD Capture Card

Razer Deathadder Chroma / Razer Blackwidow TE Chroma / Kingston Cloud2's / Sennheiser 429 / Logitech Z333

I maybe wanted to buy a 500GB ssd

So choosing pci would be very expensive, right?

Video editing? How intense? If you are going to be doing lots of multi-tasking whilst doing heavy video editing the 4790K would be necessary. It is an extreme performance CPU. Just make sure you need it. I see many people get a 4790K and the only reason they won't downgrade is because they "video edit". When all they actually do is just cut a few videos.

The 4690K is fine for light video editing. It's more than enough for gaming and recording. Just describe the sort of video editing you are doing. The money saved could go towards another upgrade :)

I agree with this, I do GoPro videos (Full 1080p) in CS6, lots of Premiere, and photoshop back and forth, and even often have after Effects open, and in all honestly my PC handles it perfectly. I haven't OC'd and only a i5.

Yes a i7 is better if you editing, but really, if you not editing hardcore than you can save that cash.

with your lasts one, A 500GB ssd Will be a good option. I only got a 256, so what I do is move the videos I'm working on onto the SSD and keep everything stored on the HDD. its a bit of back and forth, but it gives me time to go make more Tea.

I render out 10 hour video's like these "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0Z5b-HEenA"

Normal gaming footage

I edit short films

Just got screen green with lighting setup

So gonna edit with chroma key

And i want to be able to motion track flames/effects on my hand or other things --> so motion tracking

Hope that's enough information ;)

Thanks for your time!

IF you seriously want some fast data. Like seriously fast. There is the new Intel 750 series SSD. It's said to be 10 times faster than your average SSD. Probably 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x fast than a V3000. They come in pretty wierd sizes though. 400Gb, 1.4 (I think) and some other quirky sizes. They are expensive, but are the ultimate option for fast data.

I am going to the store now

I can't find the intel 750 ssd so that's not an option

Do you know one that's 256 or 500gb that's faster than ssd but under 200 dollars?

The 850 will be your best option for high capacity, fast storage. go for it.
