Desk suggestions?

I'm looking for a nice high quality desk under $300, Ikea is not an option as I believe they do not ship to my area

 

I need a desk that is at least 8 feet from end to end that is built well and will last

 

I know this is a bit of an odd post but I need something other than this party table I'm currently using

Honestly I'd just see if Ikea could get it to your area, otherwise I'd consider making your own.

Is there a store somewhat nearby you? Even if its a town over it's probably worth it.

If you feel handy, you can always make your own desk. Just go to your local DIY store pick out a table top in the right dimensions, and pick up some table legs in the right height.

If you can't find a table top in the right dimensions, most places does allow you to have it cut to size. 

 

However, with the size you describe, I would suggest reinforcing the table. That way it won't collapse if weight is placed in the middle of the table. 

You can do this in a varity of ways, but I recommend installing a metal frame under the table top. This methode will probably involve welding

I feel like I may just bite the bullet and have a friend's dad build me one. It'll probably run me about $450 or so. I'd like to get something cheaper, but if that's what it takes I can go that route

All the stores in my area sell crappy desks made of particle board that I wouldn't trust all of my gear on.
