Programmer laptop

I need a laptop for programming in college I will able to spend up to 800$ on it.

What I do is some app development and some java development.

I will also like to do some gaming on it sometimes.

Can someone please give me a list of specs or maybe some laptop suggestions.

if you want to develop ios apps...you will need to spend 900$ on the cheapest macbook air,or get a second hand macbook...no gaming will happen there tho.

 

java works on every platform so thats not an issue.

check that. you can always bootcamp a mac but not the other way around. any specs for developing most things these things run well

Not entirely correct. Hackintoshing exists OP. You can just get a cheap build with a motherboard and CPU that work well with OSX.

doesnt always work. and i doubt op would try to hackintosh a laptop
