775 CPUs

Hi. I was wondering what would be the perfect 775 CPU for my mother's future rig. She will be doing mostly work stuffs, but not video editing. Most of it are database softwares and MS Office apps. What would be a recommendable less-than-$90 build. Here is my build log. As of now, I sticked to E7300, but recommendations would help me.

CPU: Intel E7300 -- $10
Heatsink: 775 Copper -- $4.5
MOBO: G31 -- $20
PSU: 350W Tru Rated -- $7
RAM: DDR2 2GB 800MHz -- $18
GPU: nVidia 8400GS -- $10
Case: Rise 831 -- $9

Total: 78.5

I will be upgrading it to 4GB of RAM, I just need to run it first before upgrading so that mom can do work more efficiently that taking her work laptop everytime she goes home

I would go ahead and get 8gb if it is for work and stuff. DDR2 is really cheap now, getting an extra 4 gigs wouldn't hurt.

Looks fine for db and msoffice, i'd definetely upgrade the RAM though to at least 4gb and if your board and budget supports it maybe 8.

pc specs: 4 function calculator / 8 digit lcd display / colored numeric and function buttons

I'll be upgrading it to 4GB, I just need first to be up and running. So both CPU and GPU don't need a better choice?

Yeah, looks alright for word and stuff, that kind of thing runs on 486s no problem lol

Although that power supply I just noticed... don't expect longevity.

Those kinds of power supply's common here. It's more of a generic vs "tru rated". not everyone can afford to by an 80+ bronze PSUs (though I have a VS450)

Powerlogic, Orion, and Trendsonic are the popular generic power supplies here. They are marked 600-800W, costs roughly the same as "tru rated", but can only handle 100-200W.

Can't use eBay. And $35 is a bit pricey for a $90 budget. Though I saw some Q6600 at $25, I may or may not get it. Still thinking to get a processor between the price of E7300 and Q6600.

I'll be using a 1080x720p monitor. 15" monitor. for a $10 range, it's either 8300gs or 8400gs.
