I have been switching around my build A LOT lately. Eh, I guess it will all be worth it in the end. *shrugs shoulders and takes sip of coffee*

Basically, the title says it all. Is it worth it to Push Pull my 212X? If so, what fan would be good? Please don't recommend a Noctua as they are really expensive................................................................................And ugly.

Also, do you think I should get the 212X or the 212 EVO? I can get the 212X from my favorite retailer for only $4 more than the EVO, which cab only be purchased from this super sketchy website that I don't like.

No, it's not worth doing it unless you have fans lying around. Go with the 212 Evo if the other site is sketchy.

The site that I get the 212 EVO from IS the sketchy one. Why not? I do plan on OCing so a couple of degrees is still good.

Nah.Not worth it unless you can find really cheap fan for it. There's hardly any air resistant in that dinky heatsink. The only thing I would do is to use the provided fan as pull coz it'll be easier to clean the heatsink and hide the fan from view coz I don't like the look of it.

In that case, get the 212x?--It's an updated 212 Evo.

Push/pull lowers temps by ~2c. You might as well just get a better cooler from the get-go if you need more cooling.

I do plan on going with better cooling, as you already now.

But. If I get this cooler now not only will I be able to get a better cooler. There will also be PLENTY more to offer in terms of range. Maybe Noctua will finally make a fan that doesn't look like dog excrement and I'll get that. Or maybe I'll save up and get a custom loop. Unlikely though.

So if I want to pull that means I use the stock fan as an exhaust?

Yes, blowing air away from the cooler.

I've got an evo and noticed little to no difference between one good static pressure fan in pull, and 2 set up in push pull. (Same sp fans)

I've been considering adding a second fan to the H212 Evo myself, but to find a fan that matches the one provided to do so, well...  I'd much rather replace that fan and go with two Sickleflows with red lighting to match the ROG theme.  However, seeing as though that might not exactly be the best option, I prefer better thermal compound over the push-pull config.  So having the MX-4 paste on the CPU, it should cool at least as good, if not better than adding a second fan, or replacing the fan CM provides with the H212.  Might not exactly have the performance of the Noctua D-15, or whatever that dual-fan bulky thing is, but it certainly does get the job done for those 4.4GHz overclocks.
