Are there any better CPU Coolers than the Hyper 212 EVO for around $28.40?

Also, should I bother getting some thermal paste or will there be some pre-applied thermal paste on the cooler? If it's pre-applied, I'll plan to get it later.

The Hyper 212 Evo comes with a little tube of thermal paste, not pre-applied. I have heard that it isnt the best paste, but hey, a few degrees difference doesnt matter to me..

The cooler comes with decent thermal paste already.

The Pure Rock is better for a bit more: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk009

I just received my Hyper 212 EVO yesterday and used it on a G3258. It does come with a little syringe of thermal paste, but I wasn't sure so I bought some MX-4 as many here said it was a good one.

I'm happy with mine so far, it's quiet and seems to do a good job.

Cryorig H7. It's similar in performance but smaller and looks way better IMO

I could go for a smaller size.

Edit: I meant I like the cooler.

Used the 212 evo since my Q6600 (Was that 5 years ago?) never had a problem and cooled very well all my chips since then.

I went with the H100i and I regret it. Will go back to air very soon.

I can only speak for the evo. So for me, just go with it!

I had the 212+ (older version of the EVO) before the NH-D15. It's a decent cooler for the money, but come on literally EVERYONE uses it. I'd like to go with something different for a change.
