Safety when moving a computer?

When I transport my PC, I use the box/poly the case came in. I have a small/lightweight GPU and use the stock cooler, so I don't do anything else.

If anything got damaged in transit, I'd make a claim on home insurance.

Avoid dropping or it having it powered on, since this can damage the actuators and platters in a hard disk. Use something to support the GPUs, since they can sag and the PCI-E connector is liable to bend or even snap off. Make sure that if you're using a tall air cooler that there is something to keep it from sagging and stripping the screws or undoing the brackets holding it on. Make sure there are no disks in optical drive, and make sure any cards that stick out (flash drive, external wireless module, etc.) are not plugged in, because the end can break off and you can get a USB head stuck in your I/O (This has happened to me multiple times)

Call me overprotective, and half this isn't necessary, but whatever. Just some examples.
