Need headset for CS:GO

Go to solution Solved by Alfie_Assassin,

Went with the HyperX Cloud 1, found them on sale so it was worth it. Will update how they are vs my tiamats.

So currently im using the Razer tiamat 7.1, which im starting to hate. They dont really sound that good. In 7.1 mode, things are quite and you cant hear people in teamspeak that well in game etc. 2.1 is louder but even worse when it comes to sound.

Im looking at the hyperx cloud 2, which seems to be the best fit.

I will add, that I play csgo alot, and want headphones suited to it. DMG Hell is hard enough without having good sound to hear people ingame and footsteps.

So should I go with the hyperx cloud 2?

Thanks.

edit: Please dont offer anything from Razer, I am done with them.

I hear Logitech's G430 and G35 are pretty good. Not the best audio in the world, but functional and work with Logitech Gaming Software. The G-keys on the G35 could prove useful/fun, as well.

Personally, I use ASTRO Gaming's A50. It's the best wireless headset I've used, but if you're not looking for wireless there's the wired A40.

As for the cloud, I really can't say. I've never had the chance to try them. (Plus I'm really attached to wireless.)

I use the Cloud II and i love it :) but if you're on a budget then a Logitech G430 is a good choice.

Do you have a decent pair of headphones already?

I'd honestly prefer to get a nice pair of headphones and a separate mic to get better audio quality (in addition to better mic quality).

Siberia V2's are better imo, all my friends use it and they can hear footsteps in my matches, I'm LE in CSGO, and can say that siberia's are probably the best in this price range, general area. They can hear footsteps about the same as me and I have some pretty fancy pants headsets lol.

Am I the only one that sees the irony in that statement?

Anyway, the cloud series is supposed to have pretty much the best sound quality of anything in its price bracket, at least for headsets, so I would go for it. Plus, the build quality is very good, so there's that.

Hmm, I'am also considering the ATH-M40x, around the same price, and I have a snowball so no mic on the m40x is not an issue. (Mic is shit on the cloud 2 though the usb dac).

Well my options are Hyperx Cloud 1 (as it has split cables) at 55 quid, Cloud 2 at 75 and ath-m40x at the same price at the Cloud 2.

Might get the Cloud 2 then, seems to be lent on in the gaming side of things.

M50 sound Nearley identical to the m40x and will just cost him more money better off buying the m40x.

Well keep in mind, want it for clearer sound in CS:GO (and well cs:s and any other competitive fps). The Hyperx where more better suited for that. I can get the Cloud 1 with out that DAC for 55 quid, is the Cloud 2 worth it over the first one? as I would use a spilter on the 2 anyway.

Then just get the cloud 1. Besides, the USB dongle is supposed to be crap, and CS has really good digital surround encoding, so there's no reason to get the USB dongle.

Not anymore.

good to know! :)

Thing is there are reports of it not sound as good as it can on mobo audio (lesser end mobo audio, not stuff like supremeFx), this is coming from Logan from Tek Syndicates review. So I was wondering if that usb dongle would do to at least bring the full sound out. Or will intel HD audio just be fine with the Cloud 1s.

You'll find that over here, the general opinion is that the only difference you will find with different amps is that the sound get louder. You will not really find a difference in sound quality on motherboard audio, unless something is actually broken/you experience interference from something inside the case that gets transmitted to the headphones. Besides, if you haven't heard them amped, and you enjoy the sound without any external stuff, why would it matter?
