Since a few weeks firefox has the fully fledged html5 player enabled and it is a lot better than the flash player version, which used to crash alot. However, every 10 seconds or so it has to buffer for 2 seconds. In the loading bar you can see it loads the same part a few times. I have 100/12.5mbps internet on 100mbit cat5e ethernet and an AMD 8320 at 4.4GHz and a HD 7950, so I'm fairly certain it isn't my hardware. I tried googling around a bit but I couldn't find the problem I have. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Have you tried another browser? Chrome or Opera?

You try the master race browser.? (Chrome)

you try clearing history/cookies?

rebooting etc?

I'll not be switching browsers because I refuse to play a part in the growing WebKit/Blink monopoly which is slowly starting to become the next IE6. History shouldn't influence anything but I'll try clearing cookies.

It works fine for me using Firefox 39.0a2, and has done for the last few versions IIRC.

If you try following the instructions in http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/254901-watching-youtube-videos-in-1080p60-on-firefox/ does it help at all?

If you don't get it working, you could try updating to a beta or alpha version of Firefox, though obviously there are many reasons why you may not wish to do that.

I toggled media.mediasource.webm and it seems to have improved a little. I'm using cyberfox AMD 64-bit at the moment, which is still at version 37. I guess it has something to do with that. I'll try installing the normal version and see how that goes.

I've been having this issue with chrome.
Originally it was HideFedora that was causing the issue, and then Hola Better internet started causing it.
Disable all extensions, and try again. If it works, enable one extension at a time and try again until it doesn't work; and you have the extension at fault.
