Solved by Dabombinable,
Recently my friend and I have both built our first gaming pc's. Our specs a mostly the same exept for the motherboard and PSU. We have noticed that he gets a lot better performance in games than I do.
My specs are:
AMD FX-8350 CPU
Sapphire radeon r9 290 tri-x GPU
ASRock 970 pro3 r2.0 MOBO
Sharkoom WPM700 bronze 700 WATT PSUHe has theASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer MOBO.and theCooler master G750M 750 WATT PSUIs the different type of motherboard the cause of the difference in performance? Or is my system a bit short on power?P.S. sorry for the bad English
Yes. More than likely the VRM's on your motherboard are throttling, meaning your CPU doesn't get enough power and slows down. A 990FX motherboard is always the best choice for an FX 8350 to ensure there are no issues.
Edit: looking at asrock's website its not more than likely, the VRM are throttling. You need a motherboard with an 8 phase VRM.
