Hi everyone!

Just updated Android OTA to 5.0.1 on my HTC One E8 M8sw and now every single google service does not work due to an incompatibility of the Google Play Services app.

I have been looking around for ages for a fix for this, but nothing seems to work. I've:

- Disabled Android Device Manager and then foced stop, cleared cache and data and disabled google play services app and rebooted;

- All of the above + uninstalled the app and rebooted;

- All of the above + installed a previous version .apk and rebooted (several versions 4.x, 5.x, 6.x).

- Keep updating the apk every time I see a supposed fix.

Nothing works. I keep getting the same "Google play services is not supported by your device" message every time a Google app is opened.

The phone is not rooted or anything and I just got it 2 weeks ago, so it's basically in the same condition as when I took it from the box except with some apps installed...

I'm finding this very strange. Isn't Android and all its versions supposed to work with Google stuff right off the bat? Aren't our versions of Android actually developed by Google itself?... How can their keystone app be incompatible?

Is there a fix for this that I haven't read about yet, or am I gonna have to suck it up? Does this happen to every single person who updates? Anybody here had the same problem?

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers!
