he could be running a FX build just asking if another 960 can work on his setup

Power: Does your PSU have enough wattage to handle the cards AND have enough PCI-E connectors to hook everything up?

I dunno, what's your PSU?

Data: Is your motherboard certified for SLI and have enough PCI-E slots? Are the cards compatible with each other? Does your CPU have enough PCI-E lanes?

It said 2-way SLI....sure.....

They're both 960s? Same amount of RAM? It'll work, manufacturer doesn't matter....

I still dunno, google your CPU, make sure it has at least 16 lanes for 2-way setup and DON'T STICK ANYTHING ELSE IN THERE (if it only has 16 lanes).

Space: Are your cards too long? Is your motherboard big enough?

I dunno, grab a tape measure and stick it in there...

Should be, it's ATX and SLI certified....

Heat: Can your case provide enough airflow?

I still dunno, try it out make sure your GPUs aren't too hot....

Noise: Will your cards make too much noise?

HOPE AND PRAY THAT YOUR CASE WILL MUFFLE THE SOUNDS.

If not, use something like Afterburner to create a custom fan curve

When in doubt about multi-card setups, think about these 5 things before continuing

Haha, no no I get that. But it'd probably be better to ditch the 960 and buy a 970, unless he's getting a killer deal on the 960.

FX's bottleneck easy. I'm still shocked at how many AMD boards lack things like SATA3/6gbps.

the Asmedia chipset support the USB 3.0 and SATA3

But the MSI 970 Gaming board is a refresh and so is the 970 Krait
