Ridska here ,

I am just curious of what hardware is inside of a Television and if its too much to ask , I would just like to know the names of the parts of a television .

I MIGHT ( underline the might part ) build my own television .

Thanks and stay funky LTTF :D

What kind of television?

Technically it's a screen with a low power cpu and a tv signal decoder. There are pcie expansion cards that can deconde tv signal, attach that to a screen and you have a tv.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Its just like asking " what kind of PC are you building? "

Who knows , I might build something out of any parts that I can get ...

But is that all ? I mean with the advancements in TV , there's bound to be more to that...Right ?!

Nah, it's really just the same... although newer television run more advanced operating systems or even android, with sometimes multi-core arm cpus. Oh, and I suppose there are speakers too...

You can use a raspberry pi 2 with a usb decoder and pretty much any screen with a digital input: http://www.techradar.com/news/computing/pc/tv-on-raspberry-pi-watch-and-record-live-tv-1151587

Nothing too crazy.

I was asking what sort of tv because you may have wanted some insight in how the screen itself is made, but apparently not...

While you're at it, what's a led screen made of (diodes...), but what's behind it?

Would really appreciate this.

Actually it's made of a layer of liquid crystals (which change colour) and some white LEDs that illuminate them from behind. The LEDs can be had in different layouts (hence tn, ips, va etc)

Think.....

A giant All-in-one PC. That's 1/8 as powerful and with less features.

At the heart of it, modern TV's are just a large LCD monitor, with a proprietary mini-computer inside (if it's a smart TV).
