if you want to upgrade the CPU i would buy a new motherboard sry and I am also sorry that i didn't answer you question properly.

Well, the most expensive one compatible with your system?

What games / software are you going to use it for?

this does answer the question basically the best is to upgrade and yes i have considered that and i am looking into it

Getting a new i5 w/ 1150 is of course the best.

But, if you really want to stick with your current motherboard, what's your budget?

im looking to upgrade my Cpu i cant put in the specifics atm but what is the best LGA 775 Processor

Motherboard- Foxconn 667MA-RS2H

Unfortunately after looking at your board specs its Max FSB of 800MHz while only supporting 1066MHz as an "OC" is going to limit your options.

If you can get a BIOS update to support it you may be able to run a QX6800 or regular Q6600. Both can be found on eBay for less than $50.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Wait...

Max clock of 1066Mhz?!? Really?

I mean today proves that it is not all about the mega and gigahertz anymore but I guess that would really hurt your performance even with a decent grafixcard.

Max FSB speed not CPU clock speed. It limits the generation of CPU that can be used that's it. So later model Q9xxx and Q8xxx quads are out but earlier gen Q6600s will work fine.

To clarify: Conroe dual cores were 800 and 1066 FSB, and Kentsfield were 1066 FSB quads. Those should work.

Later Wolfdale duals were usually 1333 FSB (E8400, E8500 etc) and Yorkfield quads were 1333 FSB (Q9300, Q8300 etc) those will probably not even POST in that board.

Well according to Foxconn looks like you're out of luck unfortunately. Their CPU list ends at the Conroe based E4700, that's as good as it gets.

You're going to need a new motherboard to use anything better. You could take a gamble and try something like an E8400 but I don't think its worth wasting the money. Better to buy a G3258 and a cheap H81 or B85 motherboard at this point unless you can get a hold of a cheap 775 board with a P35 or better chipset.

Excellent idea, you'll love the difference.

What games / software are you going to use it for?

Well... no because this board only properly supports 65nm 800MHz FSB CPUs which is the E4xxx series and E2000 Pentiums/Celerons.

Not to sound like an ass but if you're going to make a comment as if the answer is obvious at least make sure you're correct.

I mean like, the most expensive CPU compatible with your Mobo is the best, which makes sense. It was a sarcastic hint to ask for the use of it. Getting the best 1150 (i7) does not improve gaming either, so I just needed more info. Sorry if that created some confusion though!
