Cranked to 4 (or if lucky) 4.2 Ghz it's still pretty potent but will lack the punch of a newer chip overclocked to the same or more..

Do you know where to get a decent motherboard for it for cheap? Because otherwise it's not worth it. That's what worries me more than the cpu itself.

Its still good for using with mid tier cards like GTX 960 or R9 280X, but you need to overclock the hell out that old i7 too.
