hmm... lol I was gonna buy a 1200w psu

Nope. Maybe if you have 3/4 Titans/ 290xs

that rig would be fine with a decent 500w, since they're all relatively low-power components. Even with 2 of those GPUs, 8 fans and 4 hard drives you wouldn't be pushing much more than 500w at full load.

If you really wanted to get the lowest capacity PSU for that rig then you could pick up a decent 350-400w psu and it would most likely run fine.

How much power would I need for a PC with an i5-4690k, gtx 970, z97 gaming 7 board, 16gb of RAM, and about 4 or so fans.

600W to 700W just to be safe :)

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

600W will be more than enough.

um 430-500 should be fine...

according to PCPP that CPU and GPU combo should only draw 347 watts...  Yeah, 430-500w PSU would be just fine

there's no reason to waste money....

any respectable 430 watt PSU would still leave you with ~watts of headroom to OC

But if he gets 600W it'll last because he can upgrade and keep it. If you can't afford it though, (I think you can bc you were ready to buy a 1200W PSU lol) get a 450W
