Are there any ultrabooks coming up in august that....

Have 8 GB , an SSD at least, a 1080p screen at least, higher is better and have a decent cpu?

 

My budget for that time will be 1000 euro's.

 

If I had this money now I would have taken the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 13.

 

But will the market be radically different then?

Well I will have the money in august. not now, and the Dell XPS 13 is 1300 euro.... but believe me I wish I could get that beautiful device. I will try to save up more for it.

Me too, why would you get a $1000 thin laptop with $600 specs if you can get a gaming laptop.

thinner, batter battery, look professional, light. those seem to be all i can see. I can find gaming laptops that are a similar price, weight and size, but just take a hit on battery life, which is fine by me if i get a real gpu

Me too, why would you get a $1000 thin laptop with $600 specs if you can get a gaming laptop. 

 

It's the thin, light and good battery life.. They are ultra portable rather than bulky.. Having just gone from and old HP business laptop in my work to an almot ultrabook.. I'm a convert. I defnately see the point for those that need to work on the go. or travel allot or need for school etc.

 

That said I would point most people towards a chromebook as they really don't need the premium features (or cost) of an ultrabook

It's about priorities.

It's like saying get a desktop when someone wants a laptop... it's the size - weight and portability that your paying for.

 

And you said you can find gaming laptops with same size and weight.. I've never seen one... one of the thinnest is the new gigabyte(or that premium line they have) but it's thicker, heavier and throttles the gpu cos it's too thin and it's LOUD..

yes but for some people like me, who have to carry 2 text books and a binder in their bad most of the time anyway, an extra pound wont be a big deal to me. 

 

its not at all like saying get a desktop when someone wants a laptop. That would be like telling someone who wants a macbook to get a msi gt80 titan

razer blade is less than 5 pounds

msi gs60 is 2kg

gs 60 looks awesome actually.. Battery life could be MUCH better but if I'd the choice, thats a hellofa option. 

 

It's a bit chunky to be quite ultabook standard (forgetting the battery) but with that much performance it could be worth the trade-off for some. Thanks for pointing me at that, I don't keep up too much with laptops and may be in the market soon (Changing jobs and will lose my work lappy)
