Help? grandpa doesn't understand notifications

My grandpa has recently gotten a new smartphone and this is dumb but he takes his time to delete EVERY notification, Every call log, Anything abnormal. my problem is although he has a data plan, He doesn't use it, my internet has been down for 3 days so i set up a hot spot from his phone. He keeps bothering me for it since the notification shows up. is there anything i can tell him to look at it in a different way?

Sounds like his got a touch of the OCD like i do I do exactly the same. Like the clean look of no notifications. If you've asked him to look the other way and he hasnt, afraid you cant do much about it GL

There isn't a problem. 

 

He's entitled to use his phone how he likes. And the point of notifications is to get you to take action to make them go away. He's got this down, the fact he wants to keep his phone neat will be comfortable in the long run, and general OCDness can help with performance (e.g. constantly closing background apps)

i know you can turn it off in ios, don't know about android, i'd guess so
