Pushy Windows Updates

I have a legit copy of Windows 7, however I do not like automatic updates and I always pick which to install. Multiple times I have had to uncheck certain updates and hide them so they don't show up again.

On multiple occasions they would show up in the list. Recently over the night windows installed those updates, one of them being internet explorer.

 

I am getting pretty pissed off with microsoft. Thinking about ditching windows and installing windows. Got gaming purposes I'll run stripped down version of win7 that will allow connection for game only.

 

Thoughts? Open for discussion.

For me, I just ignore them until there is notification down right on my taskbar. I'm trying to get my PC run smoothly 24/7 without any interruption like restarting windows automatically because I'm downloading all the time.

 

If you don't like the annoying updates, just disable it. But keep in mind, there is malware protection update and some other updates to prevent random software installing in your PC(superstition I guess? Don't blame me, I just hearing things maybe :P)

I like to install updates via "windows update," but only the ones I want to install. When I do install updates i Usually check what I'm installing...

I have to admit I never update windows ever since service pack 3 on xp messed with some game I was playing at the time. Plus for me I have noticed that after all that BS gets installed my computer never feels quite the same. I can go and delete the bloat ware that microsoft installed, disable startup programs, defrag ect... and still have some hiccups.

Since i moved to windows8 i have not downloaded much updates as windows7
