Is my CPU bottlenecking my Assassins Creed 3 gameplay?

Current system-

ASRock 970 Extreme4 Motherboard

AMD Phenom II 955 @ 3.5GHz

Corsair XMS3 16GB @ 1600Mhz

Sapphire 7950 @ stock

I heard around that there is some issues with the drivers for the graphics card, but I'm not entirely sure.

Any sort as to why it is would help. Thanks.

Yeah its your CPU. I've had this problem with the 955 on AC3, just OC it to the limit and it'll be better. Don't say "I want X.XGhz." There is a good chance you won't get there...and that'll suck.

On another note, My 955+7870 handles the Crysis 3 beta well on Very High settings :]

Hmm, yeah. I'll probably try 3.7 or 3.8. I'm also thinking if I should upgrade to an 8350 as well, of if there is a need to upgrade, cause I kinda want to hang onto my 955. Lol.

The 8350 will be a good upgrade, you will notice a performance increase, but if you want to stick with your 955 is a decent cpu for most tasks and games today... :-)!!

If your 955 is of the Black Edition you should just set the v-core at 1.50v, the multiplyer at 20,, and the HT bus at 2200mhz,, 4.0Ghz all day long. That was my config on my Asus M4N98TD-EVO Motherboard for 2 years.

Make sure you keep it cool though.

Understood,, i didnt take into account the Motherboard capabilities. But all due respect,, the 955BE has No problems obtaining and maintaining that OC. I also Ran Prime95 for 36 hours.
