Oh I forgot about th whole powerline thing. I need to do that. 

It's a good middle ground between hardwired and Wi-Fi. I use it personally, because Wi-Fi is pretty unstable with a load of devices connected. You can pick up a decent pair of adapters for $25 or so.

These will do up to 200Mbps, so they're perfect for just using as an internet connection.

Or there's more expensive ones that will go for 500Mbps and above, if you've got a NAS or something on your network.

Unless you have a connection over 200Mbps, or you need faster connections within the LAN, the 200Mbps should be fine.

I use one similar to the first one. 

 

I have a 17Mbps connection and I get 17Mbps. Unless you have a connection close to 200Mbps, you shouldn't have any issue with speed.

So I was looking at motherboard and wanted to know the difference between these two.

The main difference between these two boards is that the Z97X killer has 3 PCIE3.0 X16 slots so it supports SLI and crossfire where as the Z97 Killer (non X) only feature ONE PCIE 3.0 X16 slot so no SLI.

I would rather have the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 that i've linked earlier over both of these boards to be honest...but otherwise the Z97X is the way to go if you plan to run dual GPU's down the road...defenetly a much better choice than any of that overpriced ROG piece of shit you've linked earlier.
