RAM overclocking expectations?

I imagine that I can't get a guaranteed answer for this, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

 

How easy is it to overclock RAM, and how high can it go?

 

I'm looking at getting a 16gb kit of RAM, but it's only 1333mhz. It has 9-9-9-24 timing.

 

Can this RAM reach 1600mhz?

 

My dad's tried to explain it a few times to me but I never retained the knowledge, and without him to show me even if I got him to explain it again, right over my head.

If I can't OC the RAM to at least 1600mhz I won't bother getting it.

Very difficult and usually unstable. It's better to get a 1600mhz kit with cl 9 and spend a few extra bucks.

The speed of the ram has no difference in perfirmance. Get the 1333 kit.

It's a lot more than a few bucks. I can get the 16gb kit for $50.
