All of my parts (sans case, which should be here tomorrow!!) arrived today for my first build!!

CPU: AMD FX 8350

GPU: ASUS Radeon R9290x

MoBo: ASUS M5A99FX

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850w 80+ gold

SSD: 2x Intel 730 series 240 GBs each

RAM: G Skill Ripjaw X 16 GBs

HDD: WD 1TB Black series

Cooler: Corsair hydro H105

Case: NZXT H440 (Blue and black)

I'm working towards a blue/black themed build. The MoBo, RAM and Case are going to look so good together. I have BassPulse Pro speakers that are blue LEDs. It's all going to look so good when it's done! I'm super excited for all of this!

Probably a little OP for someone like me, but go big or go home, right? Ha. If I get hired on for this new job, when I get my apartment (plus a huge pay raise), I'm going to wall mount a ultra wide monitor centered under my 65" TV and have everything set up in the living room for casual or serious stuff. I'm so stoked.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

Good Luck!

Not the most optimal processor I learned (with the exact same motherboard and cpu) but the stuff itself isn't bad at all! (Really good actually, just bad compared to Intel's options)

The motherboard is a dream to work with. Hit me up if you have any questions relating to it. (Say if you need something and you lost the manual)

Current Desktop Build | 2200G | RX 580 4GB | 8GB RAM | CTRL | Logitech G Pro Wireless

Laptop | 2018 MBA 256/16GB | MX Master

already bought everything

2 drives for raid 0/raid 1

that cooler cost more money, and in return is better. whats the issue? (other than it not being as cost efficient)

I5 is better, trust me, i used to be running on an 8320, youd be better off with a 960 or R9 280x and the I5

Yeah, everything arrived today, except the case, like I said. I'm not terribly worried about Intel vs AMD stuff right now. I splurged on SSD and spent a little more than planned on GPU and the case. For my very first build, I'm just excited to put it all together and have something that is mine, that I put together. I suppose as I get more experienced, I'll learn some more about what's better for me, but for now, I'm just pretty pumped for everything!

Thank you! I know that, more often than not (i.e. basically all the time), Intel will beat out AMD. If I enjoy this as much as I assume I'm going to, Intel will probably be my choice in the future
