Best Motherboard

Go to solution Solved by fishymamba,

I don't plan to be using LN2 I'll be using a H100i for cooling.

Then go with which ever one you think looks best! They all have very good power designs so that should be no problem! The MSI Mpower and Asus Expert would be my two top picks.

MSI Mpower

Asus Z87-Expert

Asus Z87-Pro

Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H

Asus Sabertooth Z87

Asus Maximus VI Hero

Are all good choices. I like the MSI the best.

I honestly would get thew one that fits the best with your build! They are all excellent motherboards with very similar features.

CPU: AMD 3950x Mobo: MSI B550 RAM: 32GB DDR4 GPU: Asus 3080 Strix PSU: Superflower Leadex 3 720w Case: BeQuiet 500DX

Storage: 2TB SSD + 4TB HDD Audio: SMSL 793ii -> HiFiman HE-400 + Mission MS-50 Speakers

Which one would overclock the best? I've not started the build yet so I'm flexible when it comes down to it.

Technology is a curse... why? Because it's so addictive.

Probable the MPower or the Asus boards, but all of them will be very similar.

With Haswell, overclocking right now is limited by the CPU and CPU heat not the motherboards, unless you plan to use LN2.

The best motherboard is one that does what you need at the lowest price.

Are you planning to sli/crosfire/overclock?

That looks nice but personally not the biggest Gigabyte fan, but it does look good.

Any preferred brands?

I didn't like the look of z77 gigabyte boards myself but they really improved upon it with z87 boards.

I'd like something which I could really go with a colour scheme because I'm a bit of a perfectionist and silent fanatic.

What color scheme? Gigabyte z87 mobos have been black with blue, gold, or green.

Is their any green RAM which would go with the G1 Sniper?

One without a heatsink? I don't think I've  ever seen green ram.
