Imagine your parents or grandparents have an old PC that uses an IDE drive and still works just fine for their intended purpose but is suffering from hard disk problems.  Why not upgrade it with an SSD and give it a new lease of life?   Not everyone throws away their entire PC after 2 or 3 years, you know?

 

Read and write speed may not be anything exceptional, but it'll still be a lot snappier.  In fact especially on an IDE pc it'll make a LOT of difference compared to a HDD.
