Hey guys,

Ik have in my case 5 120mm fans running at 1600 RPM, and they make a loud high noise. it is really annoying.

I want i buy new fans but wich fans are good and silent?

Thanks!

Noiseblocker and Noctua on low to medium RPM. Noiserblocker is more silent, while Noctua offers more performance.

I really like the eLoop Series from NB.

You could just lower your RPM tho, 700-1000 RPM should be enough for casefans

Noiseblockers are almost on par with Noctua in terms of performance and silence, neither is really a break out winner compared to the other.

Be careful with the eLoops however, if you have ANY interference with airflow in front of them, For example a dust filter or your case fan locations are a punch out style mesh as opposed to a full hole for the fan, then they emit a really annoying high pitched buzz.

That depends, my eLoop worked with the mesh in front of it, needs some spacing, tho

But yeah, eLoops work best in a push style configuration.

Also love my 2x Multiframe Series Fans from Noiseblocker, they are super silent.

Yeah some people have issues and some dont, I had a fine mesh dust filter in front of mine in a PS07 and also had some in a R4 in the front and the noise they made were horrible

I tried it with the Xigmatec Asgard I, it worked (got the PWM one with upto 2000RPM) nicely (almost silent upto 1000 RPM, after that you could hear the air wooshing, but nothing annoying)

Right now my Define XL R2 has one in the back, which also works great. Will probably get the 140mm ones for the front as soon as they are released.

Yeah I've got a lot of them lying around and the only ones I can really hear were the 1600rpm ones, I use the 1300rpm versions in my current setups and can't hear anything from them. I'll be keen on having a look into the 140mm ones. Or perhaps even a revision with an odd amount of blades seeing as the 6 blade design is what's causing the pull noise they have.

Yeah, it's their first gen, i think there will be new revisions out in the future.

My Noctua NF-F12 at 1300 RPM sounds more annyoing then my eLoop at 2000 RPM. It makes a lot vibrations... Do you think it's defective?

I've never had a NF-F12 make a peep of noise before, so quite possibly could be?

Did you try them on max speed?

but don t ever put the cougar in a horizontal orientation they ll vibrate like there s no tomorow...(top case fan for example)

but they re quiet otherwise at 7v

Noctua

With a linus approval seal :P

they are releasing a black ones soon though :D

noctua black fans are server fans that are louder, more expensive and is probably oem only

don t wait for those,

they will release some cheaper model of fans tho, those would be more interesting.
