Go to solution Solved by Termiux,

Mmm not exactly. Yes it would run at a lower speed until you overclock it, but not the CPU, you have to overclock the RAM.

You have to change a few settings in your UEFI/BIOS to increase the memory frequency, but again, yes it would take the 2400Mhz memory and will probably run at 2133Mhz until you overclock it

EDIT: Also remember than for APU systems the frequency of the memory impacts performance considerably.

Just go to https://pcpartpicker.com/from now on, set your parts and it will tell you of any possible compatibility issues

According to them here are the compatible ram types

  • DDR3-1333 / 1600 / 1866 / 2133 / 2400

Just went also to MSI website (specifications tab)

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/A88X-G45-GAMING.html#hero-specification

  • DDR3 2400(OC)/2133/1866/1600/1333 MHz

So its the same info but seems like 2400 is not supported out of the box you need to OC it

So to answer your question it should accept both

Basicly, it would accept the 2400mhz memory at a lower speed until I overclock the CPU part of the apu
