I use a ton of textures (4k mixed with 2k), I dont think you understand. My game looks damn amazing, but it takes so much GPU power, like more than Crysis. God bless mods.

 

That looks compelling. Is it work the $40 over like a DCUII R9-290 (I know its not a lot, but I would still like to know)?

For 287$, it's goddamn worth it....

So im in the market for a new GPU. I mainly just play TESV with a ton of textures, so i need a good amount of vRAM, and a powerful chip. I've a budget of ~300 USD, and im upgrading from a 7870 (Poor thing, It can barely play with a constant 30-45fps at 1280x800) . I was thinking a used 970 off ebay or a 290, but I would like some outside input. Im also going to upgrade my monitor to 1440, so which card would be better, or is there another card? (I dont care about bottlenecks, im gonna upgrade the rest soon, my system is on my profile).

at this point im pretty sure a potato can run that game 

 

I think the 970 is better on power but im not sure
