Question about SSD

Go to solution Solved by Sakkura,

Nothing? It's working fine. There just isn't much room on a 60/64GB SSD.

Hi Everyone,

I have SSD 60GB (OS) and other application IE. AMD CCC,Razer,Google Chrome,Avast

i was wondering why my SSD is only 21.6GB Left Space, sometimes its increases sometimes its decreases.

Any help that i can customize it or make higher space again?

Thank you very much !

SNIP

There are things such as temporary folders, program caching and other things that happen on the C: - so its size will fluctuate small amounts when the computer is in use

I would advise moving some programs across to your normal drive (razer comms etc doenst need to be on an SSD) and freeing up your SSD - upgrading to a larger SSD to install programs on would be a wise move

Your SSD has 64GB of flash memory, with about 15% overprovisioning leaving about 54.5 GB usable space in Windows terms. Of that, Windows takes up 18.3GB, the pagefile 8GB, and a few GB on programs and the like. Leaving 21.6GB empty space available for use.

If you've got hibernation enabled, there will be hiberfil.sys in the root of C:\ taking as much as the size of the RAM currently installed. WinDirStat may not show it for some reason, I don't know.

Another thing to check is if you have compression enabled for this partition - right click on C:\, select Properties and there will be a checkbox at the bottom of the first tab. If it's enabled, then I'd say it's normal for values to vary here and there.
