I'm noticing that I can get a 1TB SSD for only about $100 more than a 1 TB HDD.  My plan was to get around 2 TB of storage space for a new build.  If cost is not an issue, should I just get two SSD?  Is there any real benefit or need - besides costs - to having an HDD?

In what universe is a 1tb ssd 140$ (USD)

I mean not really, but it's just really inefficient, as most things you would put in an HDD don't really need speed.

On Amazon the WD Velociraptor 10000 is $204 at 1TB.  The Samsung 850 EVO 1TB is $349 - so between the two I'm considering, it's $145 difference.  I'm not too concerned about the $150, more concerned about the performance, loading speeds, etc.  Buidling a system with a large budget about $4,000 to $5,000.

Originall, I was going to get one of each.  Now, I'm considering going with two Samsung 850's.  I'd like total storage space of 2TB.

The velociraptor is not worth getting. It's very loud and I wouldn't use one in my system if I got it for free.
