So I plan on buying a SSD later down the road but when that time comes I'm confused what I'm suppose to do.  Do I re-install windows completely on my SSD and do nothing about my hard drive that I already have stuff in?  You kinda get the point, I'm really clueless.  Help.

Its best to reinstall windows, just keep the files on the hdd until after you install windows on the ssd, then move whatever files you want to keep over to the ssd or an extra hdd. (Programs and such will need to be re-installed)

clone the hdd to the ssd...make ssd the boot drive...format old hdd..use for storage

From my experience with stuff like that, it only works if the SSD is equal to or greater than the capacity of the HDD, though I may have just been using a tool that doesn't support cloning to smaller drives.

I wouldn't recommend this.

The best way is to do a fresh install of Windows, move over the files you want on the SSD, and use the HDD as a storage drive.

If I have nothing important could I just re-install everything I want on the SSD?  Also do I need to do anything about the HDD after I install windows on my SSD and make it my boot drive?

If you have nothing important to carry over, of course you could just re-install everything.  I just meant any documents, pictures, music, etc :)

All you really need to do is plug in the SSD, install windows on it, and then (optional) wipe your HDD and use it as a spare drive.  Or just use your SSD if you want!
