AMD Processor with a nvidia GPU

Hi was wondering if I could mix and match a bit. I found a good nvidia card for sale and i have an amd processor in my computer to start off with. Could I stick with my amd processor and upgrade my graphics card with nvidia or do i have to get a new intel processor with the graphics card.

You shouldn't have any issues.

 

With that said, I did have some issues with my processor/GPU match-up, but on average, there should be no issues.

It would be stupid if AMD wouldn't let you use Nvidia cards with their CPU's.  They'd generate even less revenue.  Still, I'm surprised at how many times we've gotten this question on the forum.

eh, its not to suprising. for super techies it makes perfect sense it wouldnt need to be. But a lot of stuff not hardware related only works with the similar brands. 

 

IE, a apple lighting charger is only going to work with a apple phone. and so on

I think it'd be more likely that Nvidia wouldn't let their cards run with an AMD CPU installed, given their tendencies...

LOL! Yeah, like that one update they issued where you couldn't use their card as a PhysX accelerator if you had an AMD card in your system.
