So i recently got deep into Warframe again, and I've realized that ALOT of the graphics have changed, namely PhysX. It seems the devs left the option on the game, but it doesn't do anything. Instead they use this "flow particle" system, which looks like a really dumbed down version of PhysX. I've also noticed that PhysX has been removed from PlanetSide2 as well. I know some people find PhysX to be more distracting than anything else...but come on, it is gorgeous. SO have you guys noticed PhysX being excluded from or even being taken out of games? Why do you think? I'd love to have a discussion a bout it.

It's not an impossibility that a dev would decide to remove something like physX from a game that does not fully integrate it in favor of something that can be run on non-nvidia systems. Though I can only see this happening on Free to play games like Warframe or Planetside.

Yea, it makes sense. But I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibility to have a ubiquitous particle system implemented, but keep PhysX in as an override for that system. Afterall, they still claim to have PhysX in the game when they very obviously have disabled it.
