Which Processor?

I am trying to decide between the intel i5, or i7, if i got the i5, i could just overclock it, but then i would have to deal with the added heat  :mellow: . Just wondering what i should put in my new rig. 

 

What ill need my rig for - Video Editing, Maybe some games (Elite : Dangerous, Garrys Mod, And maybe DayZ)

For editing i7

If you need to ask, go with I5 and save yourself some money. I7 is worth only if you are making a living on editing and you can justify expenses on time savings. For pro-uses/daily usage I7 is a waste.

4790k, then you can overclock that and get a much faster processor w/ hyperthreading.

Edit: But only if you have spent for good components like coolers, psu, etc.

I doubt you'll really notice that much added heat if you have a sufficient cooler.

Have you considered a Xeon and just ignoring the OC option?

I5 price, I7 performance.

if your doing video editing id recomend the i7 4790k the added hyper threading will help.

at what level are you going to be video editing? in most cases a 4690k would be absolutely fine.
