IPS or TN?

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

Yeah I know they have better colors, but is it worth the extra $250?

Get IPS but there's no reason to compromise on the price. The UP2414Q is an older model. Get the P2415Q for cheaper than the Samsung, or the P2715Q if you want a larger 27" size.

So I was looking at 4k monitors I almost ordered one but then I noticed it was TN and I heard that the colors aren't as good. Should I spend the extra $150 on an IPS panel for the better colors?

TN Panel: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1CZ1UV0669&cm_re=4k_monitor-_-0JC-0007-00009-_-Product

Which one would you go for? Which one should I get? Note: I do not have enough money right now for the IPS panel.

Edit: Have a better one? Link me it!

Is 4K worth extra $500 when you can buy 1080p for $250? :) It's all about personal preferences.

Well I already have 3 1080p Monitors, so yes.

TN - Often a bit washed out colours, Faster responce time, Cheaper.
IPS - Better colours, Lower Response time, More expensive.

Personally, I would not put another 250 USD on a IPS monitor over a TN, But it is up to what you need.

Getting a IPS may be the better choice.

OK Thanks for those models! Do those fit on a triple monitor stand, and can they wall mount? Both of the dell ones you sent :)

IPS for the best colour (suited for professional work or if you love high colour accuracy)

TN for higher refresh rates @ 1080p and 1440p (has the worst colour recreation of any panel but allows high refresh rates on specific monitors)

4k I would go with IPS since no one can run high refresh rates on 4K (for now) as no monitor supports more than 30hz on HDMI and 60hz on Display port.

Sorry about this but is the g:g time fast enough? Fast mode: 6 ms gray-to-gray (typical) Normal mode: 8 ms gray-to-gray.
