What the title says basically. I've got this friend that is rich as hell. He wants IPS screen but is fine with 1080p. No ridiculous super thick laptops with only 2 hours of battery life. Basically best bang for a huge buck.

The razer blade is probably one of the nicer thin gaming laptops if you have the dosh, and from what i can see your friend does...

The new version packs a 970m with wither a 1800p touch screen, or a 1080p non touch screen (both ips). I believe Linus did a review of the older version, and everything other than the internals are the same with the new version, so you can have a look at those...
