Hey all,

So I have been having an issue with a Primochill CTR Phase II reservoir that is pump enabled:

with an XSPC Pump:

The way the pump is supposed to fit is you have the base of the reservoir, according to the instruction booklet and this video (starting about 17 minutes in)

Turn it upside down and expose the side with the pre-installed O-ring:

Then place the little rubber shim (like an o-ring but flat) atop the preinstalled o-ring:

Place the pump on top of the O-ring and shim, press down a bit to get it snugly into place, and then screw it in using the silver compression ring.

The problem is that it .. well LEAKS.   Both below the silver ring and above it.

Primochill has sent me two additional shims.  I have tried this pump with 0 shims, 1 shim and 2 shims installed and it still leaks.  I have talked with the owner of Primochill and we are frankly stumped.   I'm 100% certain i have  screwed that silver ring down as far as I can, it just won't go any further.  The pump itself when screwed down will not move or rotate at all.

So any of you have any ideas or fixes?  I've been down about 10 days waiting for these shims and got them and it still leaks.  I have let all parts dry completely for over 24 hours and it still leaks.  Only logical thing I can think of is either that machined part that holds the pump is warped or defective.... or the oring is defective in some way.  I have inspected the O-ring and it looks fine and like any other o-ring.

Help?

Thanks,

BT

Well might have fixed this.  Primochill had me put an extra oring around the base of the pump. It was a bear trying to get it on and fit, but it looks like the leaks have stopped.  Going to do a 24-48 hour leak test and see how it goes.

Yeah it looks like the O-ring between the reservoir and pump is too thin or there isn't enough thread on the reservoir for the proper amount of compression, adding that O-ring to the back between the back of the pump and ring should work no problem.
