Actually more than one

:would 4 noctua 120mm fans cool better than a single rose will 230mm? (Side panel fan)

:do noctuas really need LNAs? Or are high performance setting just fine? For noise to performance ratio?

I would recommend going with the largest fan you can as it will be able to move just as much air while spinning slower and making quite a bit less noise.

You could invest in a higher quality 230mm fan.

we dont know if it would preform better because we dont know what the CFM ratings on those are. :/

Exactly, so what is known to be a good 230mm fan?

I can't remember the exact way to do it, but there is a way to calculate what a air flow (will roughly) be used.

Generally, as the size of the fan increases, the air moved increases at a far faster rate. It has something to do with surface area. Ask someone who got an A in calculus.

There's no 230mm fan that perform nearly as well as 4x 120mm Noctuas as far as I know.

I can't remember the exact way to do it, but there is a way to calculate what a air flow (will roughly) be used.

Generally, as the size of the fan increases, the air moved increases at a far faster rate. It has something to do with surface area. Ask someone who got an A in calculus.

The thickness of the fans don't scale with size and that results in drastically lower static pressure in larger fans relative to their size.

The audioOCD folks will scream noctua .

If you want to move the most air , go with the 230mm as Burgerbum stated . I have both the BitFenix and CM fans in 230mm and they both move more air with less noise . I do however use them as exhaust on top and smaller 140mm fans in back for additional exhaust , and bottom and front for intake and on my rads . I run all my cases with positive pressure .

Hmm what did you like better? Cm or bf? And I run my case in a more balanced approach. Got a side panel fan intake, front intake, bottom intake, top and rear exhaust.

The BF is a better fan .

If you run it like you posted - " a side panel fan intake, front intake, bottom intake, top and rear exhaust " that would be great and give you a slight positive pressure ( depending on the other fans used ) . A slight positive pressure keeps your comp from drawing air and dust from gaps and holes in your comp . I also use dust filters over all my intake fans and clean them once a week .

I do the same every Sunday when I clean the house up. And thanks I'll check out Bf then.
