2600k?

I have an i7 2600K in my system and I just reinstalled windows. Everything is sluggish and my CPU usage hovers around 70% and is turboed to 3.8Ghz as I am using Chrome. I don't know what's wrong. I reseated it with a hyper 212 Evo. Temps look fine but I don't know why the usage is so high. Also, my drivers don't seem to be installing. I had to manually download my video card drivers and lan drivers. I'm also seeing that I need the Intel 6 series C200 drivers, but every time I run the exe that I get from Intel, it says that I don't meet system requirements and quits the installer. Is this a CPU driver issue that's causing the usage fluctuation?

did you format it and do a clean install?

Try ccleaner, see if there are any errors there. I have a 2600K myself, and it's a raging beast monster of a chip.

Which Windows did you use?

 

did you try installing the correct chipset driver from Gigabyte?

 

also is your SSD in IDE mode or AHCI mode?

I don't know guys... This is all too confusing. If you can, PLEASE link any drivers that you think might have not installed properly. I don't think my GTX 760 Drivers even installed correctly even though I have GeForce, because it my entire system was stuttering incredibly bad until I went back to my 750 Ti. MY PSU is 550W Bronze so I don't think that was a problem. I also have things in Device Manager saying that I don't have "SM Bus Controller" and "Video Controller". And it says that it can't find the proper drivers. Please drivers if you can...

GeForce says everything's up to date but the drivers are obviously f*cked... and yes I've reinstalled. :l If posting links in replies is against forum rules, I'm sorry. Just direct me to what site(s) i need to get to. This is horrendous.

did you clean install windows?
