Unavoidable GTA V error?

Go to solution Solved by Altecice,

Question: An error message is appearing in GTAV PC saying “ERR_GEN_ZLIB_2 Failed zlib call. Please reboot or reinstall the game.” Do I really need to reinstall or can I just reboot?

Answer: Rebooting will probably not fix this error message, which suggests that installation data is corrupt.

The video shows what happens pretty well. It happens every time exactly at this point. On some other forums I have read that it is a faulty map section that requires a verification of the game cache. The problem is that I have not bought it through steam. Does this mean my only solution is to reinstall the game or wait for Rockstar to fix this? I'd really hate having to download the 60GB all over again.
