DVORAK keyboard

Has anyone ever had any experience with a DVORAK keyboard and how did you find it?

I once arranged the keys on an old oem keyboard to dvorak layout, but I found it unusable, because I did not want to relearn typing. :mellow:

Cool, tell me how you get on. I'm considering it but first I need to buy a new mechanical keyboard to switch the keycaps on.

Don't try DVORAK unless you are a native English speaker. Yu won't find it usefull since it's "optimied" for english words.

 

But a great idea to try on an older unused keyboard. I will definitely try.

I am on day two of Dvorak. The layout wasn't as optimal as anticipated so I made a few changes. I made the home row like this instead: aoieudhtsn  it makes more sense to have the u out of the way because it isn't used nearly as frequently as the e or the i. I swapped the s and the n to but thats more of a personal opinion.

I have been using it for almost a year now. I have not gained any speed to speak of but it is much more comfortable. Dvorak is an alternating typing style whereas something like Colmark is more of a rolling style.
