GTA performance mega thread

Basically just post what settings you're using and what resolution and frame rate you get with those setting. Using the in game benchmark as the benchmark. 

 

Anyway I'll start it off: 

 

 

GPU: 660ti 

CPU: 3570 

RAM: 8GB 1600MHz

VRAM: 2GB

Just one change I had to make, change the Texture quality to high, high is comparable to the "next gen" consoles, so choose that wherever possible as a minimum, my 660ti couldn't handle very high as it cause stuttering as it was running out of video memory. It does say that with high that video memory is  over the amount of VRAM I have however it still performs quite well.

With these settings I averaged around 45FPS with lows very occasionally of 35FPS. Personally I think this is the best compromise for this specific card.

 

 

 

A quick tip if you have a GPU with 2GB of VRAM or less, you can disable suggested limits, It's what I did to achieve "High" textures, as that's the setting that seems to have the greatest affect on the visuals. Without affecting the overall experience that much. Ooops it appears I was just blind it was in the settings :/

I'm writing my IBDP Final exams in less than 20 days. I'll download GTA5 after that and bring you some high end benchmarks when I'm finally a free man.

I get about 50 FPS average with dips into 40 and highs into 70. Can you go above your VRAM limit like that?

I get about 50 FPS average with dips into 40 and highs into 70. Can you go above your VRAM limit like that?

It seems to have little affect on performance, ocassionally there are drops in performance(quite rare), but nothing too drastic that I would lower the settings to normal. Just try it I guess, could be different for each GPU/setup, no harm in trying.
