Go to Pcpartpicker and build your system there, then click the bbcode button on the top of the pcpartpicker page and copy paste that into your post :)

this makes it much easier for us to view your parts, and the image is quite annoying :)

but still, i see an i7 and 750 Ti, this is not good, go with the i5-4690k and GTX 960, thats much better for gaming, and no you will not be doing any 4K gaming any time soon

and: that cpu doesnt fit into that motherboard, build your pc on pcpartpicker and it will display any compatibility issues :)

This is my first time building a pc. I have all the parts I plan on buying in this image. http://puu.sh/heAUW/502a0ba83b.png. I just wanted to know if I have everything and if this would work for a 4k gaming pc.

Thanks I'm new here.

First up welcome to the forums! The system you have there will not work! The motherboard is a 2011-3 not a 1150 socket! And that GPU is no where near enough for a playable 4k experiance, that GPU is meh on 1080p let alone 4k, i recommenced a 980 minimum or a 970 SLI

'FrostNova' https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Samsterstorm/saved/WtBWGX :

CPU: Intel 4790k | MB: Asrock Z97 Extreme6 | GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming (+200, +250) | CASE: NZXT H440 (Black & Blue) | COOLER: Full EK 240mm CPU Loop | RAM: 16GB Hyper-X Fury (4x4GB @2133mhz) | STORAGE: Seagate Barracuda 1TB & Hyperx 120gb SSD | PSU: Corsair RM650 | SCREEN: Benq G2750 | LIGHTING: Deepcool RGB LED Kit | KEYBOARD: CM Devastator | MOUSE: Logitech G502 | HEADSET: Hyperx Clouds White

http://puu.sh/heBB6/9aed77094f. That's a bigger picture for the parts. I was going to get 2 of those gpu's but I guess I need something better. Can you recommend something personally? And should I change my motherboard or cpu? I'd like to be able to do some 4k gaming so if you could tell me what needs tweaking that would be awesome.http://puu.sh/heBBE/ba7697cfce.png

@xArkius

I am assuming you are new to computer building. the 750ti is very low tier graphics card and is great for 720p gaming. Depending how much you want to cash out you should get the Titan X which is actually cheaper than 2 way SLI 980. you don't need to custom water cool everything and you certainly don't need x99 motherboard and DDR4 Ram unless you want to spend a fortune. ALSO very important thing to note the i7-4970k is a 1150 socket and won't work the motherboard 2011 socket.

I suggest a build like this http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ttKqyc. you can cut pricing down by getting a cheaper mother which would have barely any effect, air cooled cpu cooler because the one on that is kinda overkill, cheaper case but i liked the look of that one (but thats up to you). it depend how much money you want to fork out.

before i built mine i was a like you i didn't not anything however i did research for 4 month and you should do the same, not for 4 month though you can learn a lot in a month or 2, or even less you have someone who knows computer stuff. once you do this make another build post.

I made this and it says it would work. Is this alright? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VLwYzy

that's a good build but what games do you want to play at 4k. Two way SLI 970 at 4k is not that great. If you got the i5-4690k which is much cheaper you would get pretty much the same performance unless if you are doing video editing. even thought the i7-5820k has 6 cores most games if not all utilize 4 cores or less so having stronger single cores is better than having weaker more cores. I would still suggesting getting the titan X which people actually compare at 5k, so it's really good. DDR4 ram in gaming doesn't make any difference compared to DDR3. Also quick thing to note because the 970 4gb which is actually 3.5gb Vram issue and the fact that when you SLI two 4gb (3.5gb) cards you are not actually getting 8gb of Vram but 4gb of Vram so having 12gb of Vram on the Titan X is really nice. *at 4k you sometimes need more than 4gb of Vram

anymore info/issues just keep posting it

I've been cramming haha. Would you recommened a cheaper alternative to the Titan x. It is very pricey. And with a 4k gaming comp I don't need that much hyperthreading? I only plan on browsing the internet and playing games.

cool "playing games" what games? there is a big difference if you want to play minecraft compared to metro last light. Almost all games don't use hyperthreading. Sorry when i said the i5 4960k i meant the i7 4790k but you can overclock the i5 4960k and get almost the exact same performance compared to the i7 4790k.. watch this to decide your CPU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVl8Eupbr_E. 970 2-way SLI playing games like far cry 4, metro last light or crysis 3 you would get around 30-40 fps maybe even 20 because the Vram issue with the 970 but if you going to playing games as graphic intensive as minecraft then sure that should work. And if this is the case WTF are you doing buy building a 4k rig! Also if you are playing GPU intensive games get the titan X and if it is still expensive just have a smaller 265gb SSD combo with a hardrive which is a lot less expensive and still perform as great

I've updated it to this. After learning a bit more about ssd's and hdd's I think ill just use the 1tb hdd in my current pc. And I play a lot of games from the oldies like unreal 2004 to things like metro last light and the evil within. I was wondering if 2 of these gpu's crossfire would work. Also do I need both of those cards? Thanks.

for gaming only, go with the i7-4790k and another mobo, you dont need 6 cores for gaming, and you should be looking at 1440p with those graphics cards :)

and: that 1 TB ssd is a waste of money, get a 250 or 500 GB version and get some WD Black drives :)

The Titan X cost less than 2 way crossfire R9 290x and will give you more FPS. Plus some games don't actually support SLI for example Evil Within which you mentioned. you can compare between these two sites http://www.eteknix.com/4k-gaming-showdown-amd-r9-290x-crossfire-vs-nvidia-gtx-780-ti-sli/9/and http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-x-gm200-maxwell,4091-3.html (make sure you look at the 4k results and not the 1440p results).

Okay so I'm on EST so I've been up all night researching and stuff. It's actually 8:30 am at this point. Would this work? http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/. I'm just going to use the hdd I currently have into this pc so I don't need storage. Thanks again and sorry if I don't seem like I'm getting it.

$2500 (includes windows)

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

You can take money off by only getting an HDD, cheaper case, one stick of 8gb of ram and you could do some research but i think you could possibly get the same result if you overclock the i5 4690k as the i7 4790k

So that would work? And just overclock the i5?

I am very sure because the main difference between the i5 and i7 is hyperthreading and I don't think I have a heard of any game that uses it, It actually sometimes can decrease performance however you can turn it off in the BIOS. Anyway yea i5 and overclock

I dont think so. the 4770k runs on an lga 1150 socket whereas the motherboard you have picked is an x99 mobo which has a 2011-v3 socket, get a z97 motherboard for the 4770k

CPU-i5 4690k 4.4ghz @ 1.190V, MOBO-MSI z97 gaming 3, Cooler-hyper 212 evo, GPU- r9 290x asus directcuII (-37Mv), Storage-120gb v300(switching soon), 1tb caviar blue, CASE-Red/black h440, PSU-Antec TPC 650.
