GTA V PC sub platforms

Just curious, how come some people have the game on steam, while others have it on rockstar social club? When I bought my key, it didn't work through steam, I had to download another program from Rockstar. Just curious if I missed out on anything?

Nope, steam users still need to use rockstars social club. No difference between steam users and yours.
