Are you set on buying a CPU combo kit (heatsink/fan included) or do you want an after market cooler/heatsink option? since you're $180 under your max, I would say as far as a combo CPU goes, you can save about $20 by doing the i5- 4460Haswell quad-core 3.2ghz and overclock it some. However, the link for your current CPU takes me to your mobo selection so I am not sure which i5 you selected and my recommendation may be off kilter.

In general the system seems as though it should work for your needs, the z97 has some good options for you to work with, patriot is not a brand I am too familiar with so I can't say good or bad about it, I personally am more partial to G. Skill, but it does come with a slightly higher sticker price.

Hope this helps, if you could post which model of the i5 you're getting that may help also. All the best.

Very sorry about that. Where do I read the rules? And another question...do I delete this thread?

Yeah I'm going with the combo. I'm going to get the aftermarket cooler when I have some spending money. The CPU recommendation that you gave me...I think I will switch over since I can overclock it. And here is the i5 model currently--->http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Quad-Core-Processor-Graphics-BX80646I54570/dp/B00CO8TA4I/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1429143310&sr=1-4&keywords=intel+i5+quad+core+3.3+ghz Thanks for helping!!

Looking at the model you had selected and the one I recommended, savings is about $10-$20 (depending where you buy from) plus getting benefit of Haswell. Other than that the differences are minor both would work well with your system from a spec standpoint. Hope the build goes well and hopefully you upload/post the final project for us to see how that bad boy first build goes. Good luck.

Thanks for your support and the recommendation. I am getting really anxious about building this because budget and time wise I cannot build it until in the middle of summer. I should be able to post the rig on here, if not I'll post it on Youtube. P.S. I am also 15 years old too so final projects for school are just hammering down on me and I'm just wanting to get them over with so I can worry about this from then on.

Why so anxious about it? I can imagine being pent up since you want it done and you are having to wait two months or so for it to be complete. Either way, if you need any more help with the rig or have any other questions please feel free to ask. Sounds like you're heading in the right direction.

Lol. I honestly don't know why I'm anxious about it. I think it's because that its my first build and I will think its like the "best accomplishment" that I have done yet. Lol. And ok, if I do have anymore questions I'll ask for sure. All this support has been helpful and it's been getting me hyped about it.

Yeah, first builds can be scary, i remember my first build, was very nervous because i wanted it to work well and be all i had hoped without messing something up. But it is also fun to be able to create something that you have passion for, so all the best.

The latest i5 you can overclock with is the 4690k. Everything else from Haswell refresh is locked.

I would suggest to come back when you have the money in hand and you're ready to buy. What you will get now is not what you will get come mid summer.
